I need to change the file size of an image and possibly the file type to a jpeg in order to upload it onto the net. Im new to Macs and can't find anyway to do this! Please help!

iPhoto can do just that.
Drag and drop the file to iPhoto's icon on the Dock. iPhoto %26gt; Share menu %26gt; Export, you can choose the size and format. Export to the Desktop then upload to web.
Preview can change the format from File %26gt; Save As but it doesn't resize images like iPhoto.

Open it in a graphics program (I'm fond of GIMP - http://www.gimp.org/ ), then go to Save As and pick the JPEG file type.
