Ok, this may be a stupid question but is it possible to change the file size of a photo that was saved in large format to a smaller size and keep the image sharp. When i look at a thumbnail of the large image, straight lines are jagged. I guess because theres too much detail in teh small sized image. The reason i ask is i plan to submit a photo to a magazine and if they plan to use it as a large photo it will be fine but if they choose to use it small, it will look distorted. Any ideas of what i should do?

Keep the photo's dimensions at the largest size that the magazine will print, but keep the resolution no less than 300 dpi. If any adjustment in photo size is needed, the magazine's layout artist will be able to make it. If you reduce the image's dimensions or resolution any further, you will be significantly limiting the artist's layout options and may even render the image unprintable.
