How to change the rule size of attached file ?

Outlook itself doesn't have any attachment file size limits. The limitation is set by what email service provider you use. Generally 10MB is often set as the limit for attachments, I would recommend using a file hosting service for larger files and then linking your recipient to that so they can download it from there.

Try the following:

4. Give the spreadsheet different file name

This is true in two ways

1- You have a virus in that computer, that is copying thins to it. (Virus in Excel is macro virus), you can make sure by openning this file in another (Clean) computer and save it and check the size.

2- You are saving the file in Excel version that is not compressing the pictures (If the file has pictures)

I still smell that your computer has a virus

I recommand install latest update for your antivirus, or

when i tried to upload 10MB file size, it was not uploaded and no error is shown, so what is the max file size or limit of a file upload control,can we change the max size.

The size is limited in php.ini file by setting variables

'upload_max_filesize' and 'post_max_size' to a desired value.

Unfortunatelly on shared server this affects all users and host providers won't change it.

If you have a dedicaded server , under your control, just set values you want.

The limit varies depending on how PHP has been configured on that server (in PHP.ini)

The max upload size should be displayed somewhere in the output of phpinfo()

Sometimes you can change PHP settings using .htaccess, but I think this is something that only the server administrator can do.

It could also be something to do with max execution times and timeouts. Scripts have to finish executing within a certain time or they are terminated, and so if your upload is taking a long time it may not finish within this limit (which also varies based on the PHP config).

I have a lot of BD rips of movies on my computer, and when I look to see the size of each movie in Windows Explorer (The programs that you use to brows files and folder, NOT Internet Explorer), It's displayed in Kilobytes, but that's very confusing since most of the files are 2 Gigabytes or greater which makes the number very large. I am aware I can Right Click a file to view its size in Gigabytes, but when I have to do that for each and every file it gets really annoying and I would rather like to change the display options of the Size column to display file sizes in Giga- or Megabytes. I am using Windows 7, but I believe this problem can be solved on any windows operating system if it exists.

I have to enlarge a jpf graphics file from pixels 1024 sq to 138 cm canvas size and also change the format to tiff eps or psd. I have gimp 2.2 on a toshiba satellite laptop and should be able to change the files but either i'm doing something wrong or i'm dont have enuff virtual memory. I recently made some DVDS to play on my dvd player.. they're divx files..

The problem is that when I pop in the DVD.. the subtitles go way OFF the screen, Is there a way ( or rather a program) to change the resolution size of the divx file, so that the subtitles will fit into my standard television screen?

The file size of Excel file can be increased by:

1- Making format to alot of cells (Entire column for example)

2- Making Validation for a lot of cells

3- Changing the way that embed pictures are saved (Compression level of that picture)

4- Adding a macro (or virus) to that file

You may try all these to make sure that your file is not saving unwanted data

XP won't load because of a small paging file error. Increasing its size does not help. What can I do?

I can login in safe mode and change the paging file size or set it to system managed but neither works. I can load windows from safe mode with the option to not load any extra programs on startup and this works ok but normal startup for XP continues to give the paging file too small error.

There is loads of space left on C: and I have tried all the different options for paging file size including no file at all but still it will not load up it just freezes on startup and gives the error message. Any ideas?

You have too many processes loading at startup for your ram memory size, it has nothing to do with your hard disk. Check Task manager, any more than 30-35 processes will slow or stop your computer. The only answer these days is more Ram. It could also be a malware or virus

When you click the %26quot;Save the Movie%26quot; in MM, you are offered a list of sizes, format, and qualities. Usually the %26quot;Web%26quot; option will give you the smallest file size. You can go under the %26quot;more options%26quot; and set the kpbs (the lower the rate, the smaller the file), etc. to get the file the size you need.

An image file size is proportional to the AREA of your picture. So, look at the present file size in Mb. Take the square root of that number, then divide it INTO either the length or width of the present picture. That should be your NEW width or Height. Then take whatever graphics program you are using and in the resize function, enter the new width or height. Make sure you have the box on that page marked %26quot;Keep same aspect ratio%26quot; ticked.

Even the simplest calculator has a square root function. If not use Excel. Assume the file size is 2.56 Mb, then square root formulas would be

=2.56^0.5 and hit enter where the ^ is above the number 6 key (It's called a caret)

This will not get you Exactly 1,0 Mb, but very close.

A 1 mb file is really a tiny file in todays world of digital photography. The typical file size from cameras today are between 6 and 7 mb.

When resizing images, the image ratio constraints must be maintained. Telling the photo program what you are doing, it will automatically keep the image ratios perfect.

You did not tell us why a 1 mb file size is important to you at this time.

no you won't mess it up. The page file is just hard drive space that gets used as RAM when your ram gets low.

But please note that the hard drive has moving parts so it is much slower than RAM. The best thing you can do to improve speed is to add more RAM

In Excel 2002, what could cause a file to triple in size with only minor changes?

Recently a file I was working on, with multiple sheets modeling revenue and expenses for a business unit, increased from 15Mb to 44Mb for no apparent reason. I didn't add any pivot tables, and didn't add VLOOKUPS or external links.

The most significant change I made was to add two rows performing calculations on data on that same sheet.

It might have happened if you copied any data from another worbook or worksheet, especially if you copied the entire worksheet from another workbook. You probably have a worksheet where Excel is wasting storage keeping track of blank cell values. This could be due to a filled cell WAY at the bottom of the worksheet or it could be due to cells that were once filled and now aren't. If you have a cell that is filled WAY at the bottom of the worksheet, Excel will create storage to keep track of the value of every cell between the beginning and end of your data. And Excel may also keep track of cells with storage that were once filled with data but are now empty.

The easiest way to fix this is to eliminate any filled cells way at the bottom of the worksheet and to copy just the filled cells that contain the data you need to a new worksheet and delete the old worksheet, making sure you keep your cell references in tact.

Sometimes an easy way to detect which worksheet is the culprit is to do a print preview of the worksheet. You may need to clear the print area first if the print area has been restricted to just one section of the worksheet. You can do that by File %26gt; Print Area %26gt; Clear Print Area.

The culprit worksheet(s) should look HUGE when viewed on print preview, showing tons of rows and you may see tons of blank rows. Another indicator to determine the culprit worksheet can be the scroll bar. The slider bar in the scroll bar gets longer on Excel when there is little data stored in that worksheet. It gets shorter as more data is in the worksheet. If your slider bar is short compared to the amount of data in the worksheet, that can be an indicator that Excel is wasting storage space on that worksheet.

Another thing that can take up tons of space is pictures. If you added pictures, you might reduce their space size and then re-add them to Excel. Cameras are getting much higher in megapixel count now. The higher the megapixel, the more space they take up. Decrease the resolution of the picture to where it takes up as little space as possible but doesn't look pixelated.

Programs like Partition Magic make it very easy to do.

Be surprised if you cant just right click on it, format and chose a file system that way.

Where can I find a list or cheat sheet of things that add or don't add to the final swf file size? Example, if I have a symbol with 4 frames of nested symbols but only the first frame's symbol plays, do all 4 symbols add to the size? I asked this before and two people said yes but I tried it and only the symbols visually shown added. Also things like, if I had one frame with a lot of symbols, would it matter how many keyframes it had? Basically the last question is if I animated frame by frame, would it be better to have a character's body parts on seperate layers or all the symbols on one layer or would the body parts that aren't being changed add to file size? I need to know all kinds of things like this. Where can I find something to answer these questions?

Working on body parts of a character may not be simple, so you really need to work on separate layers. It's still okay, it won't really cost much space.

Only the original symbol (not instances of the symbol) add to the file size of a flash file. Layers don't add to the size either. You can have a symbol in your library and copy 900 on the stage and it wouldn't increase the file size. What it does do is increase the amount of CPU power needed to render it. The meter for telling how big things are gonna be getting is your Library, because things in your library are what is actually causing increases in file size. The other things 'slow down' the file.

The things that increases your swf the most are imported files like bitmaps, video (which really is a series of bitmaps) and audio files.

I haven't noticed any major change when I change its varible largely. Say if I have it at max 1024, then change it to the lowest 8, I don't see much difference in performance. Can anyone tell what exactly it does.?? I know curiousity killed the cat. But also, to learn is to educate the mind.

Fred Langa wrote a series on that article. It explains much better than I can. Basically move the Swap or Page File to a Drive or Partition with 0 data files on it, increase the size of it and you will notice an increase in performance and stability.

Turning over a second drive, or a partition on a second drive, for the exclusive use of your page file can theoretically boost performance--- especially if the separate drive is on its own controller. But the performance boost might well be so slight that you won't notice the difference in real-life operations.

The reasons for the theoretical boost are that 1) you can create a temporary paging file that won't fragment because no other files will be written to the disk; and 2) the dedicated can devote all its movement to the paging file without having to take time out to read and write other files. It's also possible to format the page file's drive as FAT32, which is marginally faster than NTFS, adding another small increment of speed.

I'm trying to combine all these Youtube vids to make one big file, but there is one vid that for some reason DivX Converter refuses to allow because frame rate, sample bit, resolution or whatever has to be exactly the same as the rest, but it doesn't go into detail! I've checked resolution and a few other things, and the only thing that's different from this file to the other ones is:

Estimated file size: 22.34MB

All the others are Estimated file size: 24.38MB

If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, you have good way to combine the video into one file.

But if try to load FLV format in Movie Maker will not work. You need to convert FLV to WMV. There are several converters to create WMV file from a FLV. Go to Download.com for converters. Now you have all your movies in the correct format then lay the files out in Movie maker to create your master piece.

The final file will in WMV format but you can convert to other formats if you wish. Or you can create a DVD movie which will play on any DVD player.

Here is something to try:

Find the vid u want to copy. DO NOT OPEN it. Right click on the video icon and click on %26quot;properties%26quot;.

In properties you will look at the very top of the properties box and click on the %26quot;general%26quot; tab.

Then you will go to the bottom of the box where it says %26quot;advanced%26quot;.

Click on advanced and go to where it says %26quot;Compress or Encrypt Attributes%26quot;.

You will want to click on %26quot;compress contents to save disc space%26quot;.

Then click ok.

I need to compress a 30Mb .mwv file to a small 3-5Mb size file, anybody?

I recorded a video in .avi format and the file size was 510Mb and then converted to .mwv and got it down to 30Mb. I need to make it smaller such that it's under 20Mb even if it means changing the file format.

avi is a high compressed quality, and wmv is a low, almost worse type of quality video (by windows). You cant get much of a worser quality than that, but you might want to try real media (rm). Other than that, you'd have to cut out part of your video, or get rid of audio. 3-5 mb is about 2 minute's worth.

I backup my dvd movies with dvd fab by using the clone mode.When i use clone mode the dvd is exactly the same file size as the original but when i copy it using the full disk mode the file decreases in size. I was wondering why is that? I use full disk mode to change the volume name on the disk.

'When it says that it's supposed to hold up to 1000 songs, it's talking really low quality music in a low quality type of audio file.

If you're not much into quality, though, then you can open up your iTunes and go to Edit -%26gt; Preferences -%26gt; Advanced -%26gt; Importing and see how you're importing your CDs (that is assuming it's off CDs).

If you're REALLY concerned with space, keep it at .aac files at 128 kbps, or maybe .mp3 128kbps. If that's already what it's at, you don't wanna go much lower than that because you'll seriously be able to hear the quality of song drop.

To see what bit rate your songs are currently at, add a 'Bit Rate' column by going to View -%26gt; Options -%26gt; check Bit Rate. Take a gander. Maybe even take a look at the File Type, by doing the same thing as the Bit Rate above.

Essentially, anything below 128 kbps for an MP3/AAC file is pretty poor. Anything above 192 (if you're attempting to save space) is a little high, and you might wanna consider re-ripping/re-getting at a lower bitrate.

If you have any WAV/FLAC files...then that's where the space issue is. Those are lossless files, meaning that, on average, they're gonna be about 35 MBs per song, which is about 7 times what a normal song at 320 kbps is.

What really makes the difference is the bit rate of the song. You shouldn't go much lower then 128...but if you're at 192 or so, you can probably drop it a bit without noticing too much of a difference.

I have a video (wmv) file that I have online and downloaded it to my computer, the file size was on 19mb - I edited it final cut pro by just adding a 30 second intro and then exported it into quicktime and the file is now 117mb?? how can I keep them smaller?

This is a tough and rather complicated situation, but I'll do my best to explain...

The movie you downloaded has already gone through a lot of compression, so it's relatively small. When you create a project in Final Cut, it has basic settings that are typically very high quality since it assumes you're working with source content from a camera or other high-quality source. So when you bring the video in, it tries to up-sample that video to match the project settings. Then when you export the new video, it's doing so based on a higher quality source (the project you created with FC).

Basically there's no editor that can work with compressed files like you have without having to resample them at some stage. One solution would be to try and export your video from Final Cut to a smaller, more compressed format - there are dozens of options when you export. But you'll be re-compressing that wmv video after it's already been compressed, so the quality of that will not turn out good and you can't uncompress a video, so you just have to deal with whatever the outcome.

A wmm is just a project file, not the finished movie.

Under %26quot;Finish Movie%26quot; you will see %26quot;Save to my Computer.%26quot; Click on that. The movie will then be saved as a .wmv which can then be uploaded to YouTube.

I don't know if something changed with Yahoo or I accidentally changes something in my settings but you used to be able to download full-size files (pics) from just right-clicking on the thumbnail and saving to your computer folder. What Sarka... says is true, most software programs have an edit viewer of some type. The problem I'm having is with the enlargement protocol of the viewer. It states that the photo stays the same size, while the enlarged section is filled in with a plain background-color. Well, THat I understand because that's %26quot;exactly%26quot; what it does. What I don't understand is..... why?!?

Anyway, I prefer online editors for just about everything I do. They are versatile, and can be accessed from any puter... anywhere. I found a software the says 'bitrate changer'. What it does is it changes the bitrate and the mp3 file increases in size to almost 3 times the original size in bytes. The quality of the MP3 remains the same, so I don't see the use of it. Does anyone know what is the benefit of doing this?

There are absolutely times when some people need to change the bit rate. If you have a player in a car for example that will only play 128Kbp and your copy is 192Kbp or CD format. Yes 6kbps would sound more like a dying parrot but if your a non-profit organization that wants to put a lot of half hour long voice programs on the internet and has to pay for the bandwidth they will want to cut it in half by changing to mono and then reducing it to 28Kbps. Yes Pastor Jack * may sound like he's got his head in the toilet but people can still hear it good enough and be able to even if they only have dial-up.

You can have variable bit rates too so you can maximize the sound quality where needed and reduce it where the material is less demanding but that gets more complicated.
bitrate changers are generally used to shrink the memory size of an mp3 file, not the other way around. it doesn't work the opposite way, or to augment the quality of the file by adding more memory size. yes, you can change the bitrate alright, but the quality will not change because the original file can only provide the same information it already has and the software could not add furthermore from that except for information that do not serve anything to the quality of the file. whereas, if you use the software to shrink the memory size, it merely compresses furthermore the original file, i.e. trim some information from the original file, to convert it to a smaller file and lesser quality. simply, you cannot put in more water to a glass that's already full.
You should trash the software unless you want to compress the song even further - increasing the bit rate can never bring back what has already been lost due to the compression format, in simple terms an MP3 can never be made better on its own, you need a much better uncompressed source of audio to get higher quality.

Assuming you are talking about an animated GIF, you can try reducing its height and width.

But more likely, you need to remove frames. Each frame in an animated GIF is effectively a whole new picture; lots of frames = large file size.

You can do either with GIMP.

FYI to previous answerers, as a rule bitmap is a less efficient file format that GIF. Also, JPG only provides significant file size difference over GIF for large images.

Convert it to a jpg. Depending on the file, it may or may not become that small. If it doesn't have to be a visible graphic when it's compressed (like for emailing it), 7zip ultra compression may compress it smaller.

The song is that big because it was encoded at probably 320kbps. A 4 minute song at that quality is somewhere around there. If you convert it to mp3 select 128-192 kbps those are reasonably good bit rates. The iPod doesn't support WAV files so convert it. When you transfer The song the whole song with th e same bit rate will be the same on the ipod. The rule is higher bit rate = richer sound quality + Large file size.

Ok first of all, iPods take MP3 and MP4 format. the other thing is that there is no such thing as a MG. you probably mean MB. If you have a one Giga Byte iPod (GB) it will hold approximately 1000 Mega bytes (MB). a song that is 16.5 MB is a big song and will take up about 17/thousandths of your iPod space. Im not sure how your planning to convert it to MP4 format though.

YES..! Each time you load a jpg into your image editing program and do - anything - to it, then re-save it, your squishing more and more detail out of it and making the future use of the image grim.... In fact, you could reach a point where even on the screen it looks rotten..

If you need to do a large amount of editing or will be doing it over a few days you want to take the original shot and save it as a TIFF or even a BMP BEFORE you do anything to the image (better yet, shoot in RAW if you can) ...

Some image editing programs have a scale you can adjust as to the amount of compression that is put on you JPG's.. Learn where this is in your program and play with the scale to learn where the Less / More compression settings are. This will help a lil but still not the best.

You need to find a Loss-less way of saving and re-saving your work in order to NOT have what is happening to you happen, and normal TIFF's or BMP's are a loss-less file - but, they become BIG files..

Once you are all finished with all your image editing you could do a file save as - and re-save back into a compressed JPG if you want to e-mail or post on the web someplace. For prints I would either not mess with the camera's JPG and print what is there, or I would turn it into a TIFF for editing then print...

Hello, if you already have a youtube account, then it's pretty easy because they accept videos up to 100MB:

go to youtube, login, then click on the right on UPLOAD then you'll probably have to send yourself a confirmation email by clicking on a button, you go to your email and click the link in the email, now your youtube account is ready to upload!

Click on upload and now you'll have to enter information about the video, then press SUBMIT then on next screen you will have to upload the video by selecting the video file on your computer, then press submit. Now you have to wait for the upload to finish.. And you're done!

Use movie maker (free with windows) drag %26amp; drop the movie into movie maker (make sure you turn off always make segments in the options) then drag/drop it to the storyline on the bottom, then when you go to make the movie... click other as the format. You should try opening it with Adobe Photoshop then %26quot;Save as...%26quot; ,type in a different name and after clicking save another window appears which lets you select the JPG quality.

Another neat trick you can use is renaming the extension .jpg to .jpeg . You can lose some KB just by doing that.
